To Our Valued Clients,

Updated No-Show & Cancellation Policy

Many of you are aware of the struggles many businesses face with staffing shortages. Veterinary care is no different. As a result, we must limit daily appointments due to the result of our own shortages. Our mission is, and always will be, to deliver the best and most comprehensive care to your pet. That means we also have to give our staff time off to regroup & refresh themselves to do just that. We value our clients' time, and we hope our clients value not only our staff's time, but the other clients that are waiting to have their pet seen. Having a no-show appointment means we could have seen another pet that may be sick. Because we are booking further out each week, this could mean the difference for that pet and their recovery time.

As a courtesy, please call our clinic to cancel appointments you cannot make. There may be other pets waiting to be seen. We have been forced to update our No-Show & Cancellation policy due to the amount of no-shows recently. Pre-payments will be enforced, per this policy, going forward when you no-show to an appointment. If you have not yet read and signed this updated agreement, please review, sign, and bring it with you to your next appointment. We have copies at the front desk as well for your convenience. Click here to see our updated policy.

Learn Who We Are

  • Rachael Saeger, DVM

Hi! I am Dr. Rachael Saeger, the newest addition to the teams at Metro Animal Hospital and Wittenberg Veterinary Clinic. My husband, Tim, and I just recently moved to the Merrill, WI area and are taking over his family’s homestead. I grew up in Las Vegas, NV before moving to Spokane, WA  for my undergraduate studies, where I studied Biology at Whitworth University. I then attended vet school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2020. I previously worked at two small animal clinics in Minnesota, focusing on preventative care, as well as exotic animal medicine. I have particularly strong interests in animal behavior, dentistry, nutritional therapy, and aquatic animal medicine. At home, Tim and I have four kitties (Atticus, Gus, Checkers, and Otis), as well as an aquarium. We are hoping to start up a bit of a homestead/hobby farm in the next couple of years where the animal menagerie will continue.

  • Linda Prososki, DVM
    Veterinarian

Dr. Linda is the original owner of Metro Animal Hospital, which opened its doors in 2004. She is also the owner of Wittenberg Veterinary Clinic, and she continues to enjoy working at both clinics. She feels very fortunate to be doing what she has always wanted to do - be a veterinarian. Dr. Linda attended undergraduate school and veterinary school at the Ohio State University. It was there she met her husband, John, who was a year ahead of her in veterinary school. They have four children (all grown) and three French Bulldogs, as well as a dairy farm. Over the years they have had many birds, cats, and dogs, each having a special place in their family. Dr. Linda enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but she has a special interest in surgery and ophthalmology.

  • Angie Witt, DVM, DACVIM
    Veterinarian

Dr. Angie graduated from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, completed a small animal internship in Medicine & Surgery at Ontario Veterinary College, and a residency in Internal Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College. After three years in academia, she took time off to raise her young boys, Oliver & Simon, before returning to the profession - this time in general practice. She has been a part-time associate at Metro Animal Hospital since 2008. Dr. Angie is a Diplomate of The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and now teenage boys, as well as her two cats (Squash and Spider) and dog (Charlie). Her favorite food is pizza.

  • Dawn Esselman, DVM
    Veterinarian

Dr. Dawn graduated from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Having worked at a couple different practices, she found her passions to be Emergency Medicine and Ophthalmology. She enjoys watching the Packers, Badgers and Blackhawks. Dr. Dawn lives with her husband Joe, three-legged cat Moose, and lab mix Myna.

  • Michelle Jooss, DVM
    Veterinarian

Dr. Michelle graduated from the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine. Before moving to the area to be closer to family, she worked in emergency medicine. Her special interests include: urgent care, trauma, toxicities, and feline lower urinary disease. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and dance fitness. She lives with her husband, young son, and two cats.
